Two ivory-white goat skulls mounted on elaborate mechanical bodies butt heads in a goofy Punch-and-Judy show. They bob and weave, retreat - then strike.
Elegant, long-beaked bird skulls fly around the room, attached to mechanical arms suspended from the ceiling. Their beaks click and clack to create an odd, percussive song.
These are two of the kinetic sculptures featured in Philly-born filmmaker Jarred Alterman's new documentary Convento, an enigmatic look at the provocative work of Dutch artist Christiaan Zwanikken.
